BROWNSVILLE— The Hatchie Bottom Bluegrass Jamboree returns Saturday, October 9, to the West Tennessee Delta Heritage Center, Brownsville. In its fourth year, after a COVID-break in 2020, the Jamboree features bands from the Jackson, Tenn., based Golden Circle Opry. The free concert will take place on the outdoor stage from 1 – 5 p.m.
“We are excited to be able to bring the Jamboree back this year,” said John Few, Golden Circle Opry producer. “And I’m especially happy to continue the tradition of presenting bluegrass in Brownsville.”
This year’s jamboree includes the following bands: Good Time Grass, Courthouse Pickers, and Providence Road as well as the Hatchie Bottom Boys of Corinth, Miss. Shade tree pickers are invited to participate before the stage performances from 9 am until 1 pm. There are plenty of shade trees and areas to form music circles and play with fellow pickers.
“We could not be happier to welcome back the Hatchie Bottom Bluegrass Jamboree,” says Sonia Outlaw-Clark, Delta Heritage Center director. “I’m also delighted to have Simmons Bank joining us in our mission to preserve and promote the area’s music traditions.”
Attendees are invited to bring their lawn chairs and blankets to enjoy the afternoon concert. BBQ Express food truck will be on site with a great selection of food choices.
