Health Department Confirms Additional COVID-19 Death and Cumulative Total of 11,122 Cases of COVID-19 in Madison County

The Jackson-Madison County Regional Health Department confirms a 65-year-old female died Apr. 2 due to complications from COVID-19, according to a Tuesday morning news release from the department. This brings the total number of COVID-19 related deaths to 231 in Madison County.

The health department received positive test results for four more cases of COVID-19. There is now a cumulative total of 11,122 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Madison County.

The newest confirmed cases range from ages 33 to 77.

The department’s epidemiology staff are reaching out to these individuals and people who had close contact with these cases.

Five Madison County residents are currently hospitalized. One of those patients is on a ventilator.

The department also released the following demographic information about Madison County’s confirmed COVID-19 cases.
