Health Department Confirms Additional COVID-19 Death, 65 New Cases of COVID-19 in Madison County

The Jackson-Madison County Regional Health Department confirms an 84-year-old male died Jan. 21 due to complications from COVID-19, according to a Friday morning news release from the department. This brings the total number of COVID-19 related deaths to 161 in Madison County.

The health department received positive test results for 65 more cases of COVID-19. There are now 10,163 cumulative confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Madison County.

The newest confirmed cases range from ages 11 months to 78.

The department’s epidemiology staff are reaching out to these individuals and people who had close contact with these cases.

Twenty-two Madison County residents are currently hospitalized. Three of those patients are on a ventilator.

The department also released the following demographic information about Madison County’s confirmed COVID-19 cases.
