Health Dept. Confirms Three Additional COVID-19 Deaths, 70 New Cases Bringing Cumulative COVID-19 Cases to 6,010 in Madison County

The Jackson-Madison County Regional Health Department confirms three additional COVID-19 related deaths, according to a Thursday morning news release. This brings the total number of COVID-19 related deaths to 110 in Madison County.

The newest deaths include:

  • 59-year-old female (died 10/27/2020)
  • 84-year-old female (died 11/20/2020)
  • 60-year-old male (died 11/30/2020)

The health department received positive test results for 70 more cases of COVID-19. There are now 6,010 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Madison County.

The newest confirmed cases range from ages 4 months to 89.

The department’s epidemiology staff are reaching out to these individuals and people who had close contact with these cases.

Thirty Madison County residents are currently hospitalized. Five of those patients are on a ventilator.

The department also announced Wednesday night that it will no longer host weekly COVID-19 media briefings moving forward. It will host press briefings in the future when it has announcements, changes, or new things to share regarding COVID-19.
