TN Dept. Of Health Reports 666 New Cases Of COVID-19 and Over 2,870 Deaths

There are over 665 new cases of the novel coronavirus in Tennessee, according to Friday’s data from the Tennessee Department of Health.

As of 2 p.m. Friday, there are 223,403 confirmed cases of COVID-19, which is 666 additional cases since Thursday afternoon’s report. The death toll has risen by 7 additional deaths to 2,871.

There have been 201,831 recoveries or inactive cases. The department said it defines recoveries as people who have been confirmed to be asymptomatic by their local or regional health department and have completed their required isolation period or are at least 21 days beyond the first test confirming their illness.

A total of 1,140 people with COVID-19 are currently hospitalized.

A total of  3,263,702 tests have been taken, which is 5,750 more since Thursday’s report.
