There are over 2,960 new cases of the novel coronavirus in Tennessee, according to Monday’s data from the Tennessee Department of Health.
As of 2 p.m. Monday, there are 217,682 confirmed cases of COVID-19, which is 2,965 additional cases since Sunday afternoon’s report. The death toll has risen by 7 additional deaths to 2,774.
There have been 194,836 recoveries or inactive cases. The department said it defines recoveries as people who have been confirmed to be asymptomatic by their local or regional health department and have completed their required isolation period or are at least 21 days beyond the first test confirming their illness.
A total of 846 people with COVID-19 are currently hospitalized.
A total of 3,201,215 tests have been taken, which is 39,215 more since Sunday’s report.
