There are over 1,900 new cases of the novel coronavirus in Tennessee, according to Friday’s data from the Tennessee Department of Health.
As of 2 p.m. Friday, there are 189,454 confirmed cases of COVID-19, which is 1,910 additional cases since Friday afternoon’s report. The death toll has risen by 42 additional deaths to 2,352.
There have been 172,618 recoveries or inactive cases. The department said it defines recoveries as people who have been confirmed to be asymptomatic by their local or regional health department and have completed their required isolation period or are at least 21 days beyond the first test confirming their illness.
A total of 692 people with COVID-19 are currently hospitalized.
A total of 2,755,933 tests have been taken, which is 33,296 more since Tuesday’s report.
