Health Department Confirms Three Additional COVID-19 Deaths, 2,988 Cases in Madison County

The Jackson-Madison County Regional Health Department confirms three additional COVID-19 related deaths, according to a Friday morning news release from the department. This brings the total number of COVID-19 related deaths to 65 in Madison County.

The most recent deaths include:

  • 83-year-old female (died 9/3/2020)
  • 99-year-old female (died 9/12/2020)
  • 75-year-old male (died 9/24/2020)

The health department received positive test results for 24 more cases of COVID-19. Eight of these new cases are from the same residential facility. We now have 2,988 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Madison County.

The newest confirmed cases include 12 males, 12 females, and range from ages 8 to 79.

The department’s epidemiology staff are reaching out to these individuals and people who had close contact with these cases.

Eight Madison County residents are currently hospitalized. None of those patients are on a ventilator.

The department also released the following demographic information about Madison County’s confirmed COVID-19 cases.
