
There are over 940 new cases of the novel coronavirus in Tennessee, according to Saturday’s data from the Tennessee Department of Health.
As of 2 p.m. Saturday, there are 181,439 confirmed cases of COVID-19, which is 942 additional cases since Saturday afternoon’s report. The death toll has risen by 20 additional deaths to 2,216.
There have been 164,982 recoveries or inactive cases. The department said it defines recoveries as people who have been confirmed to be asymptomatic by their local or regional health department and have completed their required isolation period or are at least 21 days beyond the first test confirming their illness.
A total of 706 people with COVID-19 are currently hospitalized.
A total of 2,621,091 tests have been taken, which is 23,609 more since Saturday’s report.
