
There are over 2,355 new cases of the novel coronavirus in Tennessee, according to Friday’s data from the Tennessee Department of Health.
As of 2 p.m. Friday, there are 180,497 confirmed cases of COVID-19, which is 2,357 additional cases since Thursday afternoon’s report. The death toll has risen by 32 additional deaths to 2,196.
There have been 163,181 recoveries or inactive cases. The department said it defines recoveries as people who have been confirmed to be asymptomatic by their local or regional health department and have completed their required isolation period or are at least 21 days beyond the first test confirming their illness.
A total of 735 people with COVID-19 are currently hospitalized.
A total of 2,597,482 tests have been taken, which is 38,290 more since Thursday’s report.
