There are over 1,62 new cases of the novel coronavirus in Tennessee, according to Friday’s data from the Tennessee Department of Health.
As of 2 p.m. Friday, there are 169,859 confirmed cases of COVID-19, which is 1,622 additional cases since Thursday afternoon’s report. The death toll has risen by 37 additional deaths to 2,025.
There have been 152,674 recoveries or inactive cases. The department said it defines recoveries as people who have been confirmed to be asymptomatic by their local or regional health department and have completed their required isolation period or are at least 21 days beyond the first test confirming their illness.
A total of 808 people with COVID-19 are currently hospitalized.
A total of 2,415,529 tests have been taken, which is 27,211 more since Thursday’s report.
