Health Department Confirms Two Additional COVID-19 Deaths, 2,628 Cases in Madison County

The Jackson-Madison County Regional Health Department confirms a 90-year-old female died Aug. 28 and a 90-year-old male died Sept. 12 due to complications from COVID-19, according to a Saturday morning news release. This brings the total number of COVID-19 related deaths to 55 in Madison County.

The health department received positive test results for 27 more cases of COVID-19. There are now 2,628 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Madison County.

The newest confirmed cases include 12 males, 15 females, and range from ages 11 to 90.

The department’s epidemiology staff are reaching out to these individuals and people who had close contact with these cases.

Fourteen Madison County residents are currently hospitalized. One of those patients is on a ventilator.

The department also released the following demographic information about Madison County’s confirmed COVID-19 cases.
