There are over 1,800 new cases of the novel coronavirus in Tennessee, according to Saturday’s data from the Tennessee Department of Health.
As of 2 p.m. Saturday, there are 120,585 confirmed cases of COVID-19, which is 1,803 additional cases since Friday afternoon’s report. The death toll has risen by 9 additional deaths to 1,215.
There have been 80,340 recoveries, 983 more since Friday. The department said it defines recoveries as people who have been confirmed to be asymptomatic by their local or regional health department and have completed their required isolation period or are at least 21 days beyond the first test confirming their illness.
A total of 5,262 people with COVID-19 have been hospitalized, but the department noted that while the number indicates the number of patients that were ever hospitalized during their illness, it does not indicate the number of patients currently hospitalized.
A total of 1,683,722 tests have been taken, which is 23,385 more since Friday’s report.
