The Jackson Police Department is seeking the assistance of the community as it searches for a homicide suspect, according to a Friday night news release from JPD.
The release said Sandra Gayton has been identified as the suspect. Gayton is described as a white female, 5 feet and 5 inches tall, with a slim build.
JPD officers responded to a stabbing at the corner of S. Fairgrounds Street and Scott Street around 3:19 p.m. Friday. The release said officers found a white female with a laceration to her neck. EMS responded, but the female died at the scene as a result of her injuries.
