There are over 2,220 new cases of the novel coronavirus in Tennessee, according to Saturday’s data from the Tennessee Department of Health.

As of 2 p.m. Saturday, there are 181,184 confirmed cases of COVID-19, which is 2,225 additional cases since Friday afternoon’s report. The death toll has risen by 7 additional deaths to 1,067.

There have been 67,651 recoveries, 1,294 more since Friday. The department said it defines recoveries as people who have been confirmed to be asymptomatic by their local or regional health department and have completed their required isolation period or are at least 21 days beyond the first test confirming their illness.

A total of 4,724 people with COVID-19 have been hospitalized, but the department noted that while the number indicates the number of patients that were ever hospitalized during their illness, it does not indicate the number of patients currently hospitalized.

A total of 1,541,615 tests have been taken, which is 29,351 more since Friday’s report.
