There are over 1,210 new cases of the novel coronavirus in Tennessee, according to Tuesday’s data from the Tennessee Department of Health.

As of 2 p.m. Tuesday, there are 43,509 confirmed cases of COVID-19, which is 1,212 additional cases since Monday according to the report. The death toll has risen to 600.

There have been 27,599 recoveries, 637 more since Monday. The department said it defines recoveries as people who have been confirmed to be asymptomatic by their local or regional health department and have completed their required isolation period or are at least 21 days beyond the first test confirming their illness.

A total of 2.665 people with COVID-19 have been hospitalized, but the department noted that while the number indicates the number of patients that were ever hospitalized during their illness, it does not indicate the number of patients currently hospitalized.

A total of 792,779 tests have been taken, which is 15,921 more since Monday’s report.
