Students in the Jackson-Madison County School System will return to school on August 7th - Monday, August 7th. Many of our community partners have family-friendly events to provide additional support and supplies for our students.
City of Jackson Councilman Johnny Dodd joins us this week to discuss the ICARE of Jackson - 3rd annual Better Community Summit! They’ll have a school supply giveaway and door prizes while educating the community on topics like how to have a successful school year.
Also, we'll hear from a number of JMCSS teachers as they’ve spent the last week preparing for the return of our nearly 13,000 students.
JMCSS is preparing to host, for the first time ever, a district-wide student art show and silent action. We’ll visit with Christy Hays, our districtwide fine arts coordinator to find out how our students are preparing for the big event. Also, the 6th Annual International Festival is coming up. Stephane Williams, ESL Lead Teacher with JMCSS is here to share info on that.
