This week, we’ll visit with the principal of Community Montessori - Dr. Melinda Harris…we’ll tell you why the popular PreK-8 school is earning national recognition. Plus, we’ll discover how Dr. Harris and her team balance the Montessori principles and history with new innovation for the benefit of CMS students.

This week we visit with Dr. Ricky Catlett, Deputy Superintendent for the Jackson Madison County School System. We’ll discuss his journey from football coach to principal and now executive leadership over all aspects of district operations. Plus, we’ll provide a year in review, recapping the major highlights from the 2022-2023 school year.

With the Teacher of the Year luncheon coming up on May 24th, we're visiting with JCM-ECH’s Dana Helton. Each school recognizes its campus-level Teacher of the Year and three are selected to represent each grade band at the district level. Congratulations to Andrew Jackson’s Deshea Surratt, PreK-4th; East Elementary’s Ann Thompkins, 5th-8th; and JCM-ECH’s Dana Helton 9th-12th. Mrs. Helton teaches Career Exploration and Teaching as a Profession class. The District Teacher of the Year winner will be announced Friday.
