This week, we're visiting with Danielle Shaw Jones and students in the BioSTEM program at North Side High School. We’ll learn about several innovative career-building opportunities that are available for students North Side and throughout the district.
This morning we’ll visit with members of the upcoming theater production - ALL Shook Up! Carsen Cole from Liberty Tech and Khaliah Wade from Jackson Academic STEAM Academy are here to talk about their roles in the musical and tell us about several opportunities for students at their respective schools. With the Teacher of the Year luncheon coming up on May 24th, we're visiting with JCM-ECH’s Dana Helton. Each school recognizes its campus-level Teacher of the Year and three are selected to represent each grade band at the district level. Congratulations to Andrew Jackson’s Deshea Surratt, PreK-4th; East Elementary’s Ann Thompkins, 5th-8th; and JCM-ECH’s Dana Helton 9th-12th. Mrs. Helton teaches Career Exploration and Teaching as a Profession class. The District Teacher of the Year winner will be announced Friday.
