This week we visit with Dr. Nathan Lewis, Principal of JCM-Early College High. We discuss the school’s creation, its unique mission in the district, and the successes Early College High students and teachers are making. We’ll also hear from West Tennessee Teacher of the Year, Bob Sparks - and students as teachers and staff at JCM-ECH preparing them for success now - and after high school.
This week, we are taking a moment to celebrate school counselors and their work in schools across the district. We’ll be joined by Christen Barron of JCM and Aimee Evans of Arlington Elementary. They’ll give us some insight into the critical tasks professional school counselors complete for our students and families.
Students in the Jackson-Madison County School System will return to school on August 7th - Monday, August 7th. Many of our community partners have family-friendly events to provide additional support and supplies for our students.
City of Jackson Councilman Johnny Dodd joins us this week to discuss the ICARE of Jackson - 3rd annual Better Community Summit! They’ll have a school supply giveaway and door prizes while educating the community on topics like how to have a successful school year.
