This week we’ll visit with Melissa Spurgeon, Chief of Staff for Jackson-Madison County Schools. We will discuss several important community partnerships JMCSS has gained through her work - as well as the impact of the JMCSS Gala; it’s one of the initiatives Superintendent Dr. Marlon King created -early in his tenure with JMCSS.
We love the Bemis Bubble but the South Side Band has benefited from trips north of the Forked Deer River to perform with other JMCSS bands. Band director Mr. David Sinclair joins us to discuss the growth of fine arts, the impact of the Mass Band initiative on JMCSS, and what competition season has been like for the Marching Hawks. This is Episode 8.
