This week we will visit with Tiffany Spight, Chief Academic Officer for the Jackson Madison County Schools. We’ll discuss her journey through the field of education and talk about her efforts at the district office. We’ll also provide our stakeholders with an update on where we are as a district concerning the state’s 3rd grade retention law.
Students in the Jackson-Madison County School System are doing more—excelling in academics, athletics, and the arts. Today, we’re spotlighting a South Side High School graduate who is using his platform in sports to inspire the next generation of athletes across the district. Brandon Maclin, a 2021 South Side graduate, is now a senior guard for DePaul University’s basketball team. After transferring to the BIG EAST program in April, Brandon continues to build on his success, proving that hard work and determination can take you to new heights. His journey is one that resonates with students from every school in JMCSS.
This week we will focus on health and wellness, plus the return of our school system’s school health clinic. We’ll visit with Annette Wilson, the Coordinated School Health Administrator for Jackson-Madison County Schools and Latreace Brown, Clinic Manager with West TN Medical Group
