This week, we’ve invited former West TN Teacher of the Year - Bob Sparks - he’s currently an English Teacher at JCM Early College High. He spent time in Nashville recently to learn more about policies impacting - teachers and students in the state of TN….he’ll tell us about that experience and the importance of civic participation from school district employees….Plus…School Board member Andre Darnell is here to recap his experience at the Student Congress on Policies in Education…Mr. Darnell served as a group leader as a group of students from Liberty Technology High School participated in SCOPE for the 2nd year in a row.

A trio of North Side High School students who attended the Tennessee FCCLA State Leadership Conference has qualified for the National FCCLA Leadership Conference! We'll catch up with North Side FCCLA advisor Kimba A. Sears and two standout students to recap the big event. Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) is a national Career and Technical Student Organization (CTSO) for students enrolled in Family and Consumer Sciences (FCS) education programs at public and private schools. FCCLA offers intracurricular resources and opportunities for students pursuing careers that strengthen families.

This week we’re visiting with Shannon Davis - Principal of Alexander Elementary School…we’ll discuss innovative steps Principal Davis and her team are taking to increase academic growth and leadership opportunities among the student body at Alexander - Also, Evette Nesbitt, a member of our district’s family support team will tell us how Leaders Credit Union and other community partners are assisting families in need this holiday season.
