The National Weather Service in Memphis has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Obion, Lauderdale, Haywood and Lake counties until 4 p.m. Wednesday.
At 3:33 pm, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from near Portageville to near Cooter to near Dixonville, moving east at 40 mph.
Hazard…70 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.
Source…radar indicated.
Impact…hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect considerable tree damage. Wind damage is also likely to mobile homes, roofs, and outbuildings.
A tornado watch remains in effect until 900 pm cdt for eastern Arkansas…southeastern Missouri…and western Tennessee.
For your protection, move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building.
