NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE ISSUES SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH UNTIL 8 PM FRIDAY FOR THE MID-SOUTH

The National Weather Service in Memphis has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for many in the Mid-South Friday afternoon and evening.

Strong to severe storms are possible today across much of the Mid-South. The most likely time frame for strong to severe storms will be during the late afternoon and early evening hours. The most likely threat will be damaging winds although conditions are also favorable for tornadoes.

Effected areas included parts of Arkansas, Kentucky, Missouri, Mississippi, and Tennessee.

In West Tennessee, this watch includes the following counties:
