Health Department Confirms Eight Additional COVID-19 Deaths, Over 120 New Cases of COVID-19 in Madison County Since Tuesday, Sept. 28

The Jackson-Madison County Regional Health Department confirms eight additional COVID-19 related deaths, bringing the total to 295 in Madison County, according to a Friday morning news release from the department. The newest deaths include:

  • 61-year-old male (died 9/27/21)
  • 43-year-old male (died 9/27/2021)
  • 52-year-old female (died 9/26/2021)
  • 72-year-old female (died 9/27/2021)
  • 77-year-old male (died 9/27/2021)
  • 61-year-old female (died 9/27/2021)
  • 76-year-old male (died 09/27/2021)
  • 52-year-old male (died 9/27/2021)

The health department has received positive test results for 121 more cases of COVID-19 since Tuesday, Sept. 28, 2021. There is now a cumulative total of 17,740 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Madison County.

The department’s epidemiology staff are reaching out to these individuals and people who had close contact with these cases.

The department released the following demographic information about Madison County’s confirmed COVID-19 cases.
