MARTIN, Tenn. – Former Tennessee Gov. Bill Haslam will talk about his new book “Faithful Presence: The Promise and Peril of Faith in the Public Square” during an Aug. 11 program sponsored by UT Martin’s WestStar Leadership Program. The event is set for 12 p.m.-1:30 p.m., Wednesday, August 11, at the Southwest Tennessee Development District located at 102 E. College Street in Jackson.
The program is part of the “Lunch Learn Leadership” series offered to WestStar alumni. The Haslam book signing is open by invitation only to WestStar alumni and guests. The former governor will discuss his book and participate in a book signing following lunch. More than 80 guests from around West Tennessee are expected to attend.
According to an Amazon.com review, the book examines Haslam’s vision “for the redemptive role of faith in politics while examining some of the most complex issues of our time.”
