The Jackson Police Department is investigating a Friday night homicide on North Parkway, according to a news release from the department.
Officers responded to a report of a shooting at 1341 North Parkway Friday evening June 4, 2021, around 8:20pm.
When officers arrived they found 18-year-old, Tanyarris Maxwell, lying on the ground with gunshot wounds.
Maxwell was transported by EMS to Jackson Madison County General Hospital were he died as a result of his injuries, the release said.
