Health Department Confirms Additional COVID-19 Death, Cumulative Total of 11,197 Cases of COVID-19 in Madison County

The Jackson-Madison County Regional Health Department confirms an 86-year-old female died Apr. 12 due to complications from COVID-19, according to a Thursday morning news release. This brings the total number of COVID-19 related deaths to 232 in Madison County.

The health department received positive test results for nine more cases of COVID-19. There is now a cumulative total of 11,197 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Madison County.

The newest confirmed cases range from ages 23 to 77.

The department’s epidemiology staff are reaching out to these individuals and people who had close contact with these cases.

Three Madison County residents are currently hospitalized. One of those patients is on a ventilator.

The department also released the following demographic information about Madison County’s confirmed COVID-19 cases.
