Attendance at the Gibson County Sports Hall of Fame induction ceremony April 16 at Gibson Co. High School in Dyer will be limited to 100 people to allow for social distancing guidelines, officials announced this week.
Attendees will be required to wear facial masks in compliance with guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention about slowing the spread of the coronavirus pandemic.
“When you wear a mask, you protect others as well as yourself,” the CDC states on its website. “Masks work best when everyone wears one. A mask is NOT a substitute for social distancing. Masks should still be worn in addition to staying at least 6 feet apart, especially when indoors around people who don’t live in your household.”
The Hall of Fame program will be held in the high school’s main gym located at 130 Trenton Hwy in Dyer starting at 7 pm.
Seven individuals and one team will be honored and inducted as Hall of Fame members. 24 Outstanding Student Athletes from the county’s high schools will also be recognized.
Tickets are not required for attendees. A banquet meal will not be served at this year’s event.
