The Jackson-Madison County Regional Health Department confirms a 71-year-old female died Mar. 22 due to complications from COVID-19. according to a Wednesday morning news release from the department. This brings the total number of COVID-19 related deaths to 220 in Madison County.
The health department received positive test results for seven more cases of COVID-19. There is now a cumulative total of 11,046 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Madison County.
The newest confirmed cases range from ages 12 to 73.
The department’s epidemiology staff are reaching out to these individuals and people who had close contact with these cases.
Five Madison County residents are currently hospitalized. One of those patients is on a ventilator.
