NWS: Zone Forecast for the Mid-South

The following is the zone forecast for the next few days for the Mid-South from the National Weather Service:

Tuesday night, there is a chance of showers and a slight chance of thunderstorms before sunrise. It will be mostly cloudy, with temperature lows in the upper 50s. East winds will be 5 to 10 miles per hour. Chance of rain is 40 percent.

Wednesday, showers and thunderstorms are likely early in the morning, then showers and thunderstorms in the late morning and early afternoon. There is a chance of showers and thunderstorms late in the afternoon. Some thunderstorms may be severe and temperature highs will be in the mid-70s. Southeast winds will be 10 to 15 miles per hour. Wind gusts will be near 25 miles per hour in the afternoon. Chance of rain is 80 percent.

Wednesday night,  showers and thunderstorms likely early in the evening, then showers and thunderstorms late in the evening. There is a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms after midnight. Some thunderstorms may be severe in the evening. Heavy rainfall is possible in the evening. Skies will become partly cloudy after midnight. Temperature lows will be around 50 degrees. Southwest winds will be between 10 to 15 miles per hour. Wind gusts could be near 25 miles per hour in the evening. There’s a chance of rain near 100 percent.

Thursday will be breezy and cooler. There is a 20 percent chance of showers. It will be partly sunny in the morning, then skies will become mostly cloudy. Temperature highs will be in the upper 50s. West winds will be 10 to 20 miles per hour with gusts nearly 30 miles per hour.

Thursday night, skies will be cloudy. Temperature lows will be in the lower 40s. Northwest winds will be between 10 to 15 mph.
