The National Weather Service in Memphis released the following Hazardous Weather Outlook Tuesday afternoon for portions for portions of East Arkansas, the Missouri Bootheel, North Mississippi and West Tennessee.
Tuesday afternoon and Tuesday night, there is a marginal risk for severe thunderstorms after midnight across much of East Central Arkansas and North Mississippi, NWS said. These storms will be elevated so the primary hazards will be hail up to the size of quarters and locally heavy rainfall.
NWS said the following is the forecast for Wednesday through Monday: severe thunderstorms are likely Wednesday into Wednesday evening.
Most of the Mid-South is included in a moderate risk for severe weather. All modes of severe weather are possible including large hail, damaging wind, and tornadoes.
A few tornadoes may be strong and may occur after sunset, NWS said. Locally, heavy rainfall is possible as well.
Gusty west winds are expected Thursday, with winds gusts possibly exceeding 30 miles per hour at times.
