Health Dept. Now Scheduling COVID-19 Vaccine Appointments for Phase 1c

The Jackson-Madison County Regional Health Department is now scheduling COVID-19 vaccine appointments for Madison County residents in Phase 1c.

Phase 1c includes Tennesseans 16 years old or older with high-risk health conditions. High risk health conditions include:

  • Chronic renal disease
  • COPD, pulmonary fibrosis, Cystic Fibrosis, moderate-severe asthma
  • Obesity (BMI>30)
  • Heart failure, CAD, cardiomyopathies, hypertension
  • Sickle cell (not including sickle cell trait) or thalassemia
  • Cerebrovascular disease or stroke
  • Liver disease

·         Technologically-dependent individuals ages >16 years and the household residents and caregivers of children <16 years old who are technologically-dependent (such as individuals who are ventilator-dependent, oxygen-dependent, with tracheostomy, wheelchair-bound due to high-risk medical condition, or require tube feedings, parenteral nutrition, or dialysis)

·         Individuals ages >16 years with immunocompromising conditions and the household residents and caregivers of children <16 years old who have immunocompromising conditions (such as individuals receiving chemotherapy, requiring daily oral steroids or other immunosuppressants, requiring medication to control diabetes, those with HIV/AIDS or other diagnosed high-risk immunodeficiency)

·         Household residents and caregivers of children <16 years old who have complex congenital heart disease requiring ongoing medical management, such as Tetralogy of Fallot, hypoplastic left heart syndrome, and double outlet right ventricle, qualify for the Katie Beckett waiver

·         Pregnancy (NOTE: The CDC and World Health Organization have advised that pregnancy puts women at higher risk of severe illness due to COVID-19. COVID-19 vaccines have not been studied in pregnant women, and women who are pregnant are encouraged to discuss this decision with their medical provider.)

The health department will continue to vaccinate Madison County residents 65 and older.

Moderna vaccine is not currently approved for individuals under 18 years of age. Parents or guardians of minors (under 18) included in Phase 1c should call our COVID-19 Vaccine Appointment Line at 1-888-796-8894 to book their appointment.

Madison County residents included in these phases can schedule an appointment to receive their COVID-19 vaccine online at www.madisoncountytn.gov. Individuals who do not have internet access can call the COVID-19 Vaccine Appointment Line at 1-888-796-8894. If residents have questions about their appointment or trouble scheduling one, please call the appointment line.

Appointments will be issued in 30 minute increments. Residents can show up at the designated distribution location to receive their COVID-19 vaccine at any point during their allotted time. Please bring a valid ID.

The COVID-19 vaccines are not currently available to the general public. We will notify the public when we receive more vaccine and move to the next phase of distribution.
