A suspect involved in a serious stabbing incident at 576 Airways Blvd was apprehended by the Tennessee Highway Patrol on Interstate 40, according to a Monday morning news release from the Jackson Police Department.
Around 10:15 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 27, officers with the Jackson Police Department were dispatched to a stabbing at Airways Motel where they located a subject suffering from multiple stab wounds. Officers conducted life-saving first aid treatment until Emergency Medical Service arrived on the scene and transported the victim to a local hospital for treatment. The victim is stable.
The release said the suspect in the incident fled prior to officers arrival and was later apprehended on I-40. The suspect in this case was scheduled to be arraigned Monday, March 1 and will be charged with attempted first degree murder.
