Freezing Fog and Low Visibility Being Reported in Henry, Benton and Madison Counties

The National Weather Service in Memphis is reporting freezing fog and low visibility in several areas in West Tennessee ahead of the expected ice storm.

Very low visibility around Paris, Tenn. was reported around 3:07 p.m. Reduced visibility to about half a mile was reported around Big Sandy in northern Benton County and fog and low visibility was also reported in Jackson-Madison County.

Ice storm warning remains in effect until 12 p.m. Thursday for most of West Tennessee.

Tonight, in Madison County, a chance of rain and freezing rain in the evening then freezing rain likely and rain after midnight. Ice accumulation of up to one quarter of an inch is expected. Skies will be cloudy with temperature lows in the lower 30s. Winds will be blowing north between 10 to 15 mph.

Chance of precipitation is 80 percent.

Thursday, there will be freezing rain and rain in the morning, then a chance of rain and freezing rain in the afternoon. Ice accumulation of are expected to one quarter of an inch. Skies will be cloudy and temperature highs will be in the mid-30s. Winds will be blowing north between 10 to 15 miles per hour.

Chance of precipitation is 90 percent.

Thursday night, skies will be cloudy. Lows will be in the mid-20s. Winds will be blowing north between 5 to 10 mph.

 

Forecast for the cities of Humboldt and Milan

Tonight, rain likely in the evening and freezing rain likely through the night. A slight chance of sleet after midnight with ice accumulation of up to one quarter of an inch. No sleet accumulation expected. Temperature lows in the upper 20s with winds blowing north between 10 to 15 miles per hour.

Chance of precipitation is 70 percent.

Thursday, freezing rain and a slight chance of sleet in the morning, then a chance of freezing rain and sleet early in the afternoon. Ice accumulation are expected to be around one quarter of an inch. Less than an inch of sleet accumulation expected. Cloudy.
