
There are over 5,915 new cases of the novel coronavirus in Tennessee, according to Monday’s data from the Tennessee Department of Health.
As of 2 p.m. Monday, there are 287,770 confirmed cases of COVID-19, which is 5,919 additional cases since Sunday afternoon’s report. The death toll has risen by 15 additional deaths to 3,610.
There have been 252,515 recoveries or inactive cases. The department said it defines recoveries as people who have been confirmed to be asymptomatic by their local or regional health department and have completed their required isolation period or are at least 21 days beyond the first test confirming their illness.
A total of 1,543 people with COVID-19 are currently hospitalized, which is an increase of 56 hospitalizations.
A total of 3,910,280 tests have been taken, which is 54,580 more since Sunday’s report.
