
There are over 1,290 new cases of the novel coronavirus in Tennessee, according to Thursday’s data from the Tennessee Department of Health.
As of 2 p.m. Thursday, there are 197,432 confirmed cases of COVID-19, which is 1,293 additional cases since Wednesday afternoon’s report. The death toll has risen by 47 additional deaths to 2,501.
There have been 180,781 recoveries or inactive cases. The department said it defines recoveries as people who have been confirmed to be asymptomatic by their local or regional health department and have completed their required isolation period or are at least 21 days beyond the first test confirming their illness.
A total of 846 people with COVID-19 are currently hospitalized.
A total of 1,894,875 tests have been taken, which is 1,449 more since Monday’s report.
