There are over 875 new cases of the novel coronavirus in Tennessee, according to Tuesday’s data from the Tennessee Department of Health.
As of 2 p.m. Tuesday, there are 194,611 confirmed cases of COVID-19, which is 879 additional cases since Monday afternoon’s report. The death toll has risen by 31 additional deaths to 2,420.
There have been 177,945 recoveries or inactive cases. The department said it defines recoveries as people who have been confirmed to be asymptomatic by their local or regional health department and have completed their required isolation period or are at least 21 days beyond the first test confirming their illness.
A total of 795 people with COVID-19 are currently hospitalized.
A total of 2,853,067 tests have been taken, which is 12,958 more since Monday’s report.
