Mask Mandate Extended for Two More Weeks; 2,601 Cases of COVID-19 in Madison County

The Jackson-Madison County Regional Health Department received positive test results for 28 more cases of COVID-19 and announced Friday that will be extending the mask mandate for two more weeks, according to the department. There are now 2,601 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Madison County.

The newest confirmed cases include 12 males, 16 females, and range from ages 10 to 100.

The department’s epidemiology staff are reaching out to these individuals and people who had close contact with these cases.

Eighteen Madison County residents are currently hospitalized. One of those patients is on a ventilator.
