There are over 1,850 new cases of the novel coronavirus in Tennessee, according to Sunday’s data from the Tennessee Department of Health.

As of 2 p.m. Sunday, there are 143,937 confirmed cases of COVID-19, which is 1,854 additional cases since Saturday afternoon’s report. The death toll has risen by 4 additional deaths to 1,567.

There have been 104,054 recoveries, 628 more since Saturday. The department said it defines recoveries as people who have been confirmed to be asymptomatic by their local or regional health department and have completed their required isolation period or are at least 21 days beyond the first test confirming their illness.

A total of 6,378 people with COVID-19 have been hospitalized, but the department noted that while the number indicates the number of patients that were ever hospitalized during their illness, it does not indicate the number of patients currently hospitalized.

A total of 2,042,256 tests have been taken, which is 37,395 more since Saturday’s report.
