There are over 1,035 new cases of the novel coronavirus in Tennessee, according to Monday’s data from the Tennessee Department of Health.
As of 2 p.m. Monday, there are 134,744 confirmed cases of COVID-19, which is 1,036 additional cases since Sunday afternoon’s report. The death toll has risen by 21 additional deaths to 1,387.
There have been 94,812 recoveries, 2,157 more since Sunday. The department said it defines recoveries as people who have been confirmed to be asymptomatic by their local or regional health department and have completed their required isolation period or are at least 21 days beyond the first test confirming their illness.
A total of 5,881 people with COVID-19 have been hospitalized, but the department noted that while the number indicates the number of patients that were ever hospitalized during their illness, it does not indicate the number of patients currently hospitalized.
A total of 1,868,761 tests have been taken, which is 13,746 more since Sunday’s report.
