Health Department Confirms Additional COVID-19 Death, 1,765 Cases in Madison County

The Jackson-Madison County Regional Health Department confirms an 88-year-old male died Aug. 15 due to complications from COVID-19, according to a Sunday morning news release from the department. That brings the total number of COVID-19 related deaths to 30 in Madison County.

The department also received positive test results for 34 more cases of COVID-19. There are now 1,765 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Madison County.

The newest confirmed cases include 15 males, 19 females, and range from ages 9 to 88.

The department’s epidemiology staff are reaching out to these individuals and people who had close contact with these cases.

Seventeen Madison County residents are currently hospitalized. One of those patients is on a ventilator.

The department released the following demographic information about Madison County’s confirmed COVID-19 cases.
