The Jackson-Madison County Regional Health Department confirms an 85-year-old male died Aug. 11 due to complications from COVID-19, according to a Saturday morning news release. There are now 29 COVID-19 related deaths in Madison County.
The health department received positive test results for 27 more cases of COVID-19. We now have 1,731 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Madison County.
The newest confirmed cases include 9 males, 18 females, and range from ages 1 to 85.
The department’s epidemiology staff are reaching out to these individuals and people who had close contact with these cases.
Nineteen Madison County residents are currently hospitalized. One of those patients is on a ventilator.
