The Jackson Symphony’s Starlight Symphony Concert has been been cancelled, according to a Monday afternoon Facebook post by the symphony.

“After careful consideration and discussion, The Jackson Symphony’s Starlight Symphony Concert scheduled for September 19, 2020 on the grounds of First Presbyterian Church has been canceled due to COVID-19 concerns.

The health and safety of our West Tennessee community, our musicians, and our staff is our highest priority. With the rise of COVID-19 cases in Jackson and West Tennessee, this seemed to be the most responsible decision. The Jackson Symphony does plan to continue with its scheduled concert season where social distancing and other safety measures can be assured. We would like to thank our sponsors of this event for their continued support and understanding: the City of Jackson, Bank of Jackson, Jackson Arts Council, Reinhausen Manufacturing, Packaging Corporation of America, and Tim Ferguson Plumbing, Air, and Electric.

The Jackson Symphony looks forward to the return of over four decades of tradition with the Starlight Symphony in 2021. For more information concerning the upcoming 60th season of The Jackson Symphony, please visit our website at TheJacksonSymphony.org or call the office at 731.427.6440.”
