1455 Cases of COVID-19 in Madison County, 401 Active Cases with 70 Unknown

The Jackson-Madison County Regional Health Department received positive test results for 46 more cases of COVID-19, according to Director Kim Tedford and a Monday morning news release from the department. There are now 1,455 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Madison county.

The newest confirmed cases include 19 inmates total from the Madison County Penal Farm and Madison County Jail Annex. The newest confirmed cases include 30 males, 16 females, and range from ages 1 to 86.

The department’s epidemiology staff are reaching out to these individuals and people who had close contact with these cases.

Sixteen Madison County residents are currently hospitalized. One of those patients is on a ventilator.

The release said 960 Madison County residents have recovered from COVID-19 and 70 people say they are feeling better.
