The Jackson-Madison County Regional Health Department confirms a 6-year-old female died Tuesday due to complications from COVID-19, according to Director Kim Teford. This brings the total number of COVID-19 deaths to 19 in Madison County.
The health department received positive test results for 30 more cases of COVID-19. We now have 1,265 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Madison County.
Three of the newest cases are inmates at the Madison County Penal Farm. The newest confirmed cases include 14 males, 16 females, and range from ages 3 to 92.
The department’s epidemiology staff are reaching out to these individuals and people who had close contact with these cases.
Seventeen Madison County residents are currently hospitalized. Two of those patients are on a ventilator.
Eight hundred forty Madison County residents have recovered from COVID-19 and 58 people say they are feeling better.
