1,187 Cumulative Cases of COVID-19 in Madison County; 81 New Cases Reported Monday

The Jackson-Madison County Regional Health Department received positive test results for 81 more cases of COVID-19, according to Director Kim Tedford and a news release from the department. There are now 1,187 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Madison County.

The newest confirmed cases include 64 inmates from the Madison County Criminal Justice Complex. The newest confirmed cases include 71 males, 10 females, and range from ages 13 to 79.

The department’s epidemiology staff are still trying to contact some of these individuals, so hospitalization status is unknown at this time. The staff is reaching out to people who had close contact with these cases.

Fourteen Madison County residents are currently hospitalized. Two of those patients are on a ventilator.

The release said 707 Madison County residents have recovered from COVID-19 and 64 people say they are feeling better.
