298 Cases of COVID-19 in Madison County

The Jackson-Madison County Regional Health Department received positive test results for 10 more confirmed cases of COVID-19 according to a Thursday morning news release from the department. There are now 298 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Madison County.

The newest confirmed cases include:

  • 80-year-old female (hospitalized)
  • 28-year-old female (not hospitalized)
  • 57-year-old female (not hospitalized)
  • 47-year-old female (not hospitalized)
  • 60-year-old male (not hospitalized)
  • 76-year-old female (hospitalization unknown)
  • 42-year-old female (not hospitalized)
  • 16-year-old female (not hospitalized)
  • 50-year-old female (hospitalization unknown)
  • 15-year-old male (hospitalization unknown)

The department’s epidemiology staff are still trying to contact some of these individuals, so hospitalization status is unknown at this time. We are also reaching out to people who had close contact with these cases.

Four Madison County residents are currently hospitalized. One of those patients is on a ventilator.

The release said 210 Madison County residents have recovered from COVID-19 and 21 people say they are feeling better.
