Health Department to Host Free Diabetes Workshops

The Jackson-Madison County Regional Health Department will host a free six-week program for people with living with diabetes and prediabetes, according to a Thursday morning news release from the health department.

The Take Charge of Your Diabetes program kicks off Thursday, July 2 at 5:30 p.m. at the health department.

The classes will take place July 2, 9, 16, 23, 30 and Aug. 6. Workshops run from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the health department. We are located at 804 North Parkway.

The classes will cover a variety of topics including blood sugar monitoring, nutrition labels, healthy eating, and more.

Call Health Educator Amanda Johnson at 731-927-8531 to register. Seating is limited. Participants will be required to social distance and wear a mask.
